Tab display with auto hide enabled

Is there a way to keep the tab look with the text when the tabs are set to auto hide? I want to auto hide the tabs' windows but I don't like the small icons for the tabs when auto hide is enabled. The only way to auto hide and still get the tabs (as far as I know) is if you select Visual Studio .NEt 2005 for Application Look. Unfortunately, I don't like the color scheme and the tab's window does not connect to the tab you're on. I like the default black style but want to retain tab names during auto hide.

you need to rip the tab off and then then set each window to autohide

Thanks for the suggestion. If you do this, it doesn't behave like tabs anymore though. You can't redorder the tabs unless you undock and auto hide in the right order, and you lose highlighting of currently selected tab. But, it does give you all the names of the tabs though.

I would still like the ability to display tab text during auto hide though so we don't have to undock and auto hide each window one at a time.
