I noticed it is no longer possible to put tabs to the left, only top and bottom. Argh. Messes up my flow of work. Any reason thumbs can't be put on the left pane?

Not really following. I just docked the thumbs to the group tab and now have two tabs. You can pretty much ignore "Window Positions" at this point.

You're probably suffering from Evil Hidden Window Syndrome. Check over on the left, you'll probably find a narrow band you can drag to the right and expose what you want.

You can reset the windows to default by deleting "Workspace" from the newsbin registry tree too.

How do you get stuff on the row where the search tab is? when you drag a tab to that window there's no center drop area like the other areas have.

Yeah on my todo list. I did have a breakthrough the other day though.

Is there a way to reset the window in Newsbin 6.10RC3: 00 12 34 FE FC 82 ? Deleting the Workspace folder in the registry does nothing.

Well, you have to delete it when newsbin isn't running. There's an option called "Reset Display Layout on Restart" in the options menus.

What is it you expect to see?

Thanks for the quick response!

yeah -so I know enough to close newsbin before deleting the registry however this has no effect on the windows in the Newsbin display when I re-start. I've lost one of the panes that I am very accustomed to having visible. Now I have, what I don't want, all the tabs on one large pane when previously there were divided horizontally into two.

I am wondering if we are talking about the same version though - the "Options" men pops up a dialog with multiple choices and I can't find anything like ""Reset Display Layout on Restart"" though this sounds like what I want. Could you be more specific? I see a "Switches" option but no luck there - sorry if I am missing this - maybe I am blind?

You aren't running the latest official release. Download Version 6.21 from http://www.newsbin.com/freetrial.php and you should see the options Quade is referring to. It's in the Option menu, not the Options dialog. Click the "Options" menu item at the top of the Newsbin screen and the option to reset the GUI at the next restart is the last item on the bottom.

Thanks very much - even had a reset option during the install.
