SickBeard Integration

Postby TBlack » Tue Jan 20, 2015 10:32 am

Well, I'm confused. Do I have to download Sickbeard to facilitate integration, and if so from where? I downloaded SickBeard from the site and Norton did not like one of the files named Updater.exe when I unzipped, so don't know what to trust.

To me, integration means NB handles everything.

1 - It means SB can talk to Newsbin directly and tell Newsbin what NZB's to use.

2 - It means Newsbin can notify SB to start post processing after the file unrars.

It's mostly for people who already use SB and want something more advanced than "Black Hole" mode.

Is it possible for Newsbin to tell SB when a download has failed so that it can try another NZB?

In my examination of how Sb works, I don't see a mechanism do to. I assumed I could do it from Newsbin but then digging in, I didn't see a way. If you know something about it I don't I'd be happy to add support to do this on my side.

Sonaar though has tighter integration and will probably know. Sonaar doesn't work with Newsbin yet. I've been working on a prototype.

Thanks for the quick reply. I mistakenly thought it was possible in SB, but now I see that it's been a widely requested feature since at least 2010 with no results. I would definitely switch to Sonaar if it worked with Newsbin!
