Automatic Newsbin Configuration Backup

Postby larft » Mon Aug 05, 2013 10:38 pm

Just wondering if you've ever considered adding the ability to have Newsbin back up it's configuration automatically like with a selectable time interval. I know it saves over itself on launch and exit etc. but I recently had a power failure and lost my settings. I know you can't prevent everything all of the time but the option would be nice.

"Options/restore configuration on startup" then restart. It's been in there awhile now.

It's in all the most recent versions.

Sorry, I didn't notice it before in the menu, was looking for a create backup switch instead of a restore one. If you don't mind indulging me, how does this work? I have two nbi files and see 4 backups for one and 1 for the other when I relaunch, all created yesterday. So do I assume correctly that on each shutdown a backup is created and when you reload you will only see the one from yesterday? So if I put the computer to sleep and keep doing so without closing Newsbin I won't have a backup newer than the last shutdown? (which is probably a practice asking for trouble?) Also, where are the backups stored?
