Downloaded files not getting marked as downloaded

I'm not sure what version this began happening, I assumed it was just a bug that would get fixed.

If I mark for download a file header with a (+) beside it containing many files, it will download all the contained files, but only the first file is marked as "downloaded". The rest continue to be marked as available for download, but not yet downloaded. I have to go look in the group folder to actually see what pieces have been downloaded, because Newsbin no longer accurately flags files as "downloaded".

Newsbin used to be very good at finding all the occurrences of pieces a particular file. Several versions ago, it stopped finding all of them and only finds a few. In order to find the rest of the pieces, I have to use "Search" on the Internet and when it finds them, download the files. Instead of downloading them to the folder with the group name, they are downloaded to a folder named "SearchTab" and I have to go manually move them to the group folder so I can assemble the file. This is really a pain! Is there a way for me to make the search downloads go to the folder with the group name, like the rest of Newsbin does?

Even better, is there a way for me to get Newsbin to go out and find all occurrences of file pieces in a group, without having to resort to "Search" to find those pieces that Newsbin doesn't seem to be able to see any more?

Sorry if the answers have already been posted and I missed them, but I have searched on all 3 issues and haven't found anything yet.

As for the rest, I don't know what you mean. Not knowing how you download, I can't quite see what you're talking about.

Sorry, I'll try to do a better job of describing the problem(s).

For large files, perhaps 750MB, posters frequently break them up into smaller files. For instance, 750 x 1 MB files and maybe 50 par files to rebuild any errors. They may post 200 files each day for 4 days.
Newsbin displays a batch of these as 1 entry with a '+'. Clicking on the plus will expand the list to show each individual file. For a long time now, I'm pretty sure before ver 6.4, Newsbin will find, for example, day 1 batch and day 3 batch but never finds day 2 or day 4. Reloading ALL headers or NEW headers doesn't help. The other batches simply aren't found. Applying a filter of the file name to the group will only show 2 batches.

If I use Search, it will find all 4 batches, then I can download the 2 batches missing from Newsbin's group. This is pretty inconvenient, because it probably happens around 75% of the time with files that have 3 or more batches. (I'm hoping this is a bug, not a feature to add value to a Search subscription.

The other part of the problem is that when I do download the files from the Search window, they are saved to a folder created by Newsbin/Search named "SearchTab", not a folder with a group name, like a.b.movies, where all the rest of the file parts are saved. When I go look in the a.b.movies folder and find I am apparently missing batch 3, I go out to Search, find that batch and download it <again> because I forgot to go check the SearchTab folder. I'm trying to get in the habit of daily, checking the SearchTab folder and moving all the files in it to the groups in which they really belong. But it's a real pain to have to do that, simply because Search chooses to download the file to a different place than a folder with the group name.

Are you sure the batches just haven't been combined together? You might find that you get day 1 and 2 batch combined into a single entry.

PM me a specific example and I'll look. I think I've seen something like that in some of the japanese groups.

I think the searchtab thing is fixed. At least dex and I were unable to reproduce it this morning.

I clicked on 'PM' by your name, got a screen where I could construct a message describing the problem, complete with screen shots. That message is now sitting in my outbox and I have no clue how to cause it to move to your inbox. Clicking the submit button only caused it to collapse to 1 line, but it's still sitting there instead of my sent items box.

Ahhhh..... But now there's a message on that line that says it was sent 10 minutes ago.

It sits in the outbox until the recipient first opens it at which point it moves to the sent Folder.
