Version 6.40 Release Candidate 4 Available...

Postby dexter » Fri Sep 14, 2012 10:49 am

There were minimal changes to RC3, this one is labeled as the final release but it's called RC4 until we make it official.

Summary:

  • Fixed issue where NZB path settings weren't coming forward on upgrade from 6.x
  • Restored the option to choose different folder pickers. The option is under Options/Advanced.
The download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Just noticed in the Options/Performance - the title bar above the check boxes says Spam Filters.

I guess you copied the window from the Spam option. :D :D

Hi,
I don't know if it was supposed to be fixed from RC3 but enabling server from right-click on it in server pane still doesn't work in RC4, server gets enabled but it won't connect.
FYI, no problem to do it from options|servers

I wasn't able to make this fail. I'd enable a server and it would start working. Wonder what's different?

I'll give'er another look. Does it work for you if you use the server options?

Hi,
Yes it works perfectly if I want to enable a server from server options dialogue, it won't work if I select "enable server" from the right-click pop-up menu in server tab.
This is a recent issue, I think it starts to occur with RC2 or RC3.

If found the problem is with "upper arrow" (Enable one or more news Servers) in the Servers Tab in the lower part of the screen.

If you enable a server with "Options, Servers..." that work.

Just disable all your news servers, quit Newsbin,
start Newsbin, enable one news server with the "upper arrow" in the Servers tab
load an NZB, try to download something and you will get "No News Server!"

The problem started with nb640B2 and is present in all the following versions.

Ha! servers tab. I forgot it was even there. So what's you're saying then isn't that there's a problem with the servers but, that the servers tab won't start the server.

I'll check it out.

Hi,
I can confirm that enable/disable servers from right-click menu doesn't work anymore.

Yeah because I looked at it and it was working for me. My servers took right off. The means this might be problematic to find.

That's why it's good to have only medium-sized bugs.

Think I figured it out. It should be in the final, final release.
