Download folder not changing

Hi,
I'm running 6.30B5, and I noticed that, although I have it set to download to separate folders named for the group, it uses whatever the folder first used in the session was. For example, I d/l files from a.b.coolstuff. They are downloaded to a folder named alt.binaries.coolstuff. Then I d/l files from a.b.uncoolstuff, but the files are still sent to alt.binaries.coolstuff. I should say that the files were from a search rather than going to the separate groups, so I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.

I discovered that files that I had in the wish list before upgrading seem to d/l as they're supposed to, but as soon as I go back to the search list, all downloads go back to the original (and incorrect) folder.

You're saying:

1 - Search for something, see the group listed, add it to download. Group path is correct.

2 - Search for something else, see a different group listed, add i to download, it uses the original group.

Files in the wish list already have a path set.

Correct. If I get a chance, I'll play around a little today, and see if I can give you any more information.

Not much new to report. It only seems to be happening with searches. If I take stuff from the wish list, it's fine. If I take it from the folder posts, it's fine. As soon as I go back to the search, though, any files d/l there go to whatever folder was the destination of the very first file downloaded from the first search of the session. Exiting and restarting "resets" it.

Seeing same thing here. (6.30b5 on XP 32 bit) Files picked from searches. First file downloaded after opening Newsbin go to the folder for their correct group; subsequent files from different groups continue to get stuck in same folder as first one; finish the DL QUEUE and select more files, the continue to be stuck in same (wrong group) folder. Program seems to get STUCK on first folder... Happens for all subsequent files whether queued simultaneously or after DL queue clears.

Closing and re-opening NBP only resolves only for first file.

Anybody else note this?

I'm going to upgrade to B6 and observe - it's not on the list of fixes (unless hidden "Fixes to resolve memory problems on 32 bit systems")

My bad (version numbers); apparently I got 6.3RC2 (it's marked 6.30 Build 1832) not B6. So far, so good in this respect.

Still seeing download failures with retries that never work.

Increase the number of retries. You probably need to reset the count because there were changes in retries. Set it to 10 and see what happens. By default it retries once then assembles.
