B7 crashing on start

Postby jondough » Fri Mar 25, 2011 2:00 am

Been through almost every beta for years, and had few problems until B6.

B6 left me with tons of stalled, incomplete and no matter what, unable to either finish or reload issues. Ended up with directories full of nb2 files [know what they are] that WinRAR could pull together, but for the life of me I could not find a way to get the rest of the files to download, even trying to send files to new nzb.

So joy, B7 has surely fixed this, but now I cannot even test because it comes up, and whether I kill MOD or not, in about 30 seconds, crash.

Tried to reload again, remembering the choice of crash when open not selected before, but to no avail.

The computer is a very recent build, one month, so newsbin only built on a beta. B5 worked fine for what I need. B6 became an utter frustration with how to complete some files. and now.... no newsbin.

it is late on the east coast so i do not have time to do an uninstall, reboot, reinstall if it solves.

following info to hope it helps.
The below fault location is always the same.

Application event viewer error:

The stuck files are old and older, so not a recent pending dl.

I can get any other reporting you need. PM me for anything that can help.
I may have to put a V5 on to stay up with things.

You normally never hear from me because I have been a happy user for a long time.
I really respect the constant support that fellow workaholics and perfectionists provide to this ap.
Thanks.

I'd be more inclined to think you have a corrupt file in the data folder. I doubt a re-install will fix this. Might move all the DB3 files out of the data folder and see if it runs.

:D ///thanks, that seemed to at least let me run B7. Of course I lost about 100G of DL but overnight that will be ok. That being the case, I might as well just uninstall, and reinstall and recue with nbi.

Is there anything in the Download.db3 that you may find of interest? Just repositioning that cause crash. I saved them all if you need.

Thank you!

It may have crashed trying to import the downloads.db3. I'll try to simulate it here. Basically the internal format of the downloads.db3 changed for 6 and existing files need to be upgraded.
