lost nbi

Postby GrouchoBarx » Fri Dec 27, 2019 7:51 pm

Somehow I lost my newbin.nbi file. I have tried the backups and no joy. I don't suppose there is a secret hidden nbi cache somewhere?

In the options, menu you can try "load backup configuration on restart" but it depends on how many times you've started Newsbin. If you started too many times, the good NBI might have already been purged.

Thanks Quade. All backups lost, including ones I had manually saved?!? I guess I should back them up to another HDD. No real explanation of cause except the crash. I have managed to recreate most of my configuration and am now downloading headers and getting up to speed again. Busy end f the year is what has taken so long.
Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

It sounds like you either had a catastrophic failure or you're not logging in as the same user you originally used so the home folder has changed. The NBI is just a simple text file. You could even email it to yourself as an attachment to make a backup.
