This version leaves the par2 files untouched after a successful unrar;
they should be deleted.

Do you have it set to "Pause Pars"? Normally this is caused by the pars continuing to download after the rest of the download has already completed?
I will take a look also.

No, Pause Pars is unchecked, aggressive assembly is checked.

If you're concerned about the straggler pars you might want to check the "pause pars" then. There's a timing window in there between when enough blocks are there to unrar/repair and when the download is removed from the download list. This window allows some useless pars to download.
I have some ideas to make the post unrar cleanup more thorough but it's probably too late for 6.80.

Those who subscribe to ebook and magazine newsgroups thank you.

I understand.
Now I disabled the 'aggressive assembly' and things are better, but still there are some par2 files left.
In addition there seems to be more around unpar :
- Many files get unpared nicely, but still end up under 'failed files'.
I have not checked yet if there is a connection between
'left over pars' and 'failed files'
- nzb files dropped in the watchdir do not get deleted

I keep "aggressive" turned on but I'd make sure to "Pause Pars" if you want to minimize stragglers. "Aggressive" doesn't really impact the number of pars downloaded.

You really need to be running RC4 at this point. Many of things might already be improved.

Many of the E-book groups follow a really funky standard so, there's no easy way to keep them clean.
Multiple Zips with pars -> Unzip to multiple RARS -> Unrar to Content.
The zips don't group properly so, PAR cleanup is problematic.

Thanks, I did not see RC4 earlier.
