nothing but errors today

Hi just switched on Newsbin to get a few files and bombarded with errors
i've done nothing out of the ordinary today on the pc no updates nothing
please help?

Might be an Astraweb problem.

If you use the search tab with it set to "Internet", can you search and see results?

What version are you using?

We're not astraweb. Next step might be contacting them and see if they're having problems.

Just for grins you could configure a test server with the address "news.giganews.com" then see if it can connect. If it can connect but gives you "480" errors (meaning it's looking for a password). This suggests the problem is astraweb. You could then check "Use SSL" with the test server, restart and try again and see if that works. Maybe something on your PC is blocking SSL connections to news servers.

Make sure you're using Astra's SSL server if you're using SSL. You might try disabling SSL and connecting to news.astraweb.com instead of the SSL server to see if it starts working again.

Typically when I see something like this, I suspect your security software has simply updated and started to block the connections.

Hi seems to be the Secure servers ive messaged astra heard nothing back from them the news page suggests nothing is wrong
