Version 6.71B2

Okay finally the correct version topic and not 6.71B1.

I changed the server setting to disable XFeatures and restarted. No change as everything remains lagged, loading the headers is fine but processing the group is very slow and in turn all other navigation is almost frozen. For example if I click on Options nothing happens for 3 - 5 seconds, (sometimes longer), or I want to click on another group to load the latest headers once again the program lags. Switching to other programs all seem to be fine, (except when Newsbin is Unraring and then historically it slows the system down).

Wondering if I should roll back to the 6.70 version unless you have other suggestions.

Yeah, I have no idea what's happening with your setup. Might be worth deleting some of the DB3 files. Downloaded.db3 is the files list. Downloadsv2.db2 is the download/wish/failed list.

I deleted all the DB3 files and Dowloaded.db3 as well as Downloadsv2 and re-loaded the groups. Same problem with the program seriously lagging.

What is your opinion of the best way to perform a roll back to 6.70. Uninstall and then new install or install 6.7 over the existing Beta?

I'd just install it. The differences between the beta and 6.70 are so slight, I'm skeptical it'll make much difference. Unless the problem is your security software watching specifically B2 (which is how they work).

I had thought it might be Zone Alarm but in theory it would eventually finish a scan. On that note though from your experience what do you think would happen if I exempted NewsbinPro64.exe and then Newsbin downloaded a file with something nasty attached? Would the virus program tend to consider the new file as a new event or merely as part of the NewsbinPro64.exe extension? I know this area is not your expertise so I am just looking for your opinion given past experience.
