downloads during Unrar

Postby coyote2 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 4:24 pm

Thank you very much for in beta v6.70 restoring the ability to continue downloads while an unrar/repair is taking place.

Even though I'm stuck on XP (thus stuck on 6.62) for the forseeable future, it is cool that others can continue downloads now!

I assume there's a good reason for leaving XP behind in new versions; I'm curious if it's easy/quick to mention the reason?

You know it runs great under "Wine" under Linux too right?

The reason XP was abandoned is that new Microsoft devel tools don't generate programs compatible with XP.

You could always switch back to a version that both worked on XP and did simultaneous downloading/unrar.

Cool. But last time I tried Linux I was baffled, too foreign to me I'm afraid.

Good reason!

The simultaneous thing isn't that big a deal to me, my download b/w is enough greater than my d/l desires. And IIRC you did nice work between the last XP version with simultaneous downloading (whatever that was) and 6.62; 6.62 feels like an excellent version to stay on to me.

Thanks Quade!
