downloads get duplicated

Postby markeh » Wed Dec 16, 2015 6:08 pm

Using 6.62: 00 06 39 F9 E2 60

Something has changed recently.
Downloads from a.b.e-books are getting duplicated. That is, I download a file once, and it appears twice in the "Files list" tab. Even weirder, the two downloaded files are listed next to each other, but have different dates - one the day I did the download, and another in the recent past.

Of course, Calibre then imports the same book twice.

Any clue as to what's going on?? Using Giganews, if that makes a difference.

thnx...

Of course since I posted....
House lost power, computer crashed, Newsbin crashed.
On restart, not duplicated. If it happens again, I will respond.

OK - I'm restarting this. The problem is that usually Calibre is running, which moves the two original files, losing all evidence. The file duplication (and book duplication in Calibre) happens pretty often.

I just downloaded a file, and got a duplicate (Calibre not running). Here are the details:

group is alt.binaries.e-book
subject is : New eBooks 31 August 2015 - <tmi>.rar" yEnc

<tmi> (mobi).mobi 627908

Two files were in my system:

<tmi> (mobi).rar
<tmi> (mobi).mobi

Meaning that both the rar and the result of decoding were left.

Using Newsbin version : 6.62: 00 06 39 F9 E2 60

thx,

So is Calibre pulling both the MOBI and the RAR?

Do you have the duplicate detector enabled? (Advanced options)

Yes - Calibre sees two files, and imports both. Calibre un-rars the compressed file, and I end up with the book repeated

No real damage done, I just need to delete one later.

Yes - use duplicate detector is on, folder dup bypass is off

Sometimes one gets downloaded, sometimes two. I don't see any pattern yet.

Wonder if disabling unrar for that group would be a good idea? You can do it from the group properties.
