background colors

OK - a minor issue. Just installed 6.62: 00 06 39 F9 E2 60

The "default" background color is a dark grey, and makes the font a little harder to read. I would prefer it a lighter color, or even white.

Setting (Settings > Colors/Fonts > old posts) the background color for old posts doesn't seem to have any effect. No matter what I set, it stays dark gray.

Suggestions??

thnx,

.

In the NBI file, add

[COLORS]
UseBackgroundColor = 0

This will force it to use the default windows background color for lists.

You can get to the NBI file (assuming it's in the default location) by hitting "Open Data Folder" in the options. Then exit Newsbin. From the open windows you should see "Newsbin.nbi". You can edit it with "WordPad". I'd make a copy of it first before you edit the main file.

Along the same lines, is there any work being done on upgrading the interface to scale better/bigger/clearer at higher resolutions like 4k?

The next major revision, 7 something should have a completely new GUI. I'm actually working on it. No ETA though.

So does this mean there is a bug, or do I just not understand how the setting is supposed to work??

Fantastic, I no longer have to put on my glasses to read the download list.

Have you increased the font size? You can do that now. Look in the "colors/fonts" options
