When I open Newsbin I get a Security Alert relating to a certificate.

Please look at the picture and let me know what you think I should do. I'm using Win7x64.
TBH I have no idea what it is about.

Possibly related, I often find that the MOTD is blank when opening Newsbin.

Thanks for any help.

The MOTD uses Internet Explorer internally, even if you don't use it as your default browser. I believe you are getting this message because IE has an old intermediate certificate or root certificate stored locally. You'll need to bring up IE and clear out the old certificates. There are two pages I found that might help you sort this out:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... 47b?auth=1

and

http://www.brighthub.com/internet/secur ... 82291.aspx

Please let us know what ends up working for you in case others run into the same problem.

Thanks Dexter for your reply.

I have run the Microsoft Fix It from the 2nd link. Easiest of the options  and rebooted.

So far opening Newsbin hasn't caused the issue. Haven't been able to get a MOTD to pop up either. I'll post back if it occurs again and let you know.

Thanks again.

The MOTD isn't going to pop up again until I make another change to it. I'll come up with something interesting to say soon. ;)
