Download just the main file only?

Postby Wooba » Fri Aug 07, 2015 3:26 pm

On the previous versions of newsbin, in the posting lists I would see the file by itself.
The NZB, NFO, SFV, etc would be independent downloads.

Now they are as part of the "package" with the latest version of newsbin, so whenever I download something I have to delete 3 or 4 files for each thing that I downloaded.
Additionally, it makes reading through the group more difficult. Before I scrolled I would see blocks of 4 or 5 related postings. Now many things are just a single line in the list. This is more difficult to browse through. I don't see anything in the settings that would make it go back to the old way. Is it possible?

Thanks..

There are no settings to change this. It's how the files are packaged. I did break out the NZB's in 6.61 though. Most people, if they don't want those extra files, apply a filter so they're filtered out after download.

That's a bit of a bummer. I can see the merits to why you've made the changes, but there's no question in my mind, looking through a long list is more difficult with the new setup and now I've got lots of post download cleanup to do that I never had previously. I've never used filters before, so I'll have to look into applying some of them.

I'm going to make it optional. Enough people have asked.

It's optional in B2. You have to set a special setting in the NBI file manually. Dex should post it up today.

Rather than all or nothing it could do with a minus exclusion switch so users can pick and choose to their own personal preference.

CombineMeta=0 -nzb -nfo -sfv -srr -$sample -$subs

Or whatever ---------^

I agree with this suggestion 'cause most times I want the nfo file, but never look at the sfv nor srr files.
