Subject line in header display

Bit puzzled by my header display, I have a bunch of alphanumeric strings as posts - eg -

subject - kjhdf5dvg4sfbdbab545326352fdsxfgsavz
date - hhmmss
size - 10.0mb
from - god@dryif.org
group - a.b.hogwash

However if I search for the above subject string I get - eg -

<jonny fartpants 01> kjhdf5dvg4sfbdbab545326352fdsxfgsavz [1/10] - "kjhdf5dvg4sfbdbab545326352fdsxfgsavz"

- found in the same group from the same poster

How come the same (full) subject string doesn't show up in my regular headers view? I turned off my filters & it made no difference. :?

Because search has probed the files and is showing some things it found in the file.

Ctrl-R would give you the same information from headers.

What you're seeing in the post list is what was posted. What you see in search is some additional information search found in the set.

Thanks Quade
I didn't realize ctrl-R did so much.
I'd been using it only on txt nfo etc. Looks like it's gonna be my new best friend!

Yeah it's pretty powerful. It looks inside the small PAR, inside the first chunk of the first RAR and any NFO/Text files. I need to add SRR support too.

Cool this is the same question I was going to ask. However is there a way to make it display the subject in the header list the same as it does when searching, ie make it automatically probe and display them as the subject name. So many groups now just have the random letters etc and no idea what the file is until downloaded (well now I know about the probe thing too but probing every subject manually and looking for the filename in there could take forever). Would be great if it could display things like it does after a search.
