Newsbin Search - No Posts Found?

Postby insolution » Wed Oct 08, 2014 7:51 pm

I am a subscriber to Newsbin Search but am finding the utility of the extra subscription doubtful. I am finding that searching for a specific--say, book title--to fill in an a post that is incomplete in a subscribed group returns no results.

How can that be? I can find (and then download via the included nzb) the files on web sites like nzbking with no problem. Often these are older posts, but still available on GigaNews or UseNet.com.

Is the search subscription limited in some way as far as time or the groups indexed? If so, it's not working out for me.

PM me some examples. Normally this comes down to 2 things.

1 - People have it set to search the poster and not the subject.

2 - People run into the 2000 hit limit and there are more results they just can't see in the initial 2000.

You can request another 2000. 5th button from the left in the search tab. Or you can use a more detailed search term.

Don't post your examples here.

I PM'd you back. I looked at the example and found more hits on Newsbin search than on your NZB Site.

I'd clean out the global filter and examine your size filters. The files were >35 megs each so, if you have a min-size filter, they might be getting filtered out.
