Search function not working properly?

It seems that the search function (paid version for 15 / 3 months) is not working like it had worked before. if I search for something what is definitely there (because I had downloaded the headers of this group, too) it did not get found.
is there maintenance in progress (for the last 4 weeks or so)? Because if not what is the problem with the search?

You should probably mention what group you are talking about so that Dexter can confirm whether or not the group on question is indexed by the server (for instance I do not believe image groups are indexed).

I just tested it a second ago and it's working.
1 - Global filter applies to search results. Might want to look there.
2 - Make sure it says "Internet"
3 - Make sure it says "Subject Field"
4 - Make sure the age, min and max sizes make sense.
Are you getting an error message or is it that nothing shows up?

We might not be scanning that group. I'll ask Dex about it.
It's a tiny group though. 1.4 million posts. I downloaded all the headers for it in a minute or two.
If it's not in our list, I'll ask Dex to add it.

Giganews doesn't even carry it which might be why we don't have it in there currently.
Hopefully, you didn't enter that in the search part of the search tab. You could add it to the "Search in Groups" window though. You have to use the full name. Not the abbreviated name you're using here.
So I see 2 issues.
1 - We're not cataloging that group. We can fix that.
2 - You don't seem to be entering real search terms.
