Q re:cache reporting

Hi.

In order to get rid of those pesky little chunks always laying around, I started playing with the cache sizing.

Have up to 600 now, and great, pretty much no more chunks.

However, what I do see is the following:

1) Start up newsbin, cache is 600/600 (which I expect correct, as nothing has happened yet).
2) Process and download 1 NZB fully, cache is now reporting say 580/600 (although nothing is happening).
3) Process and download 2 NZB fully, now reporting say 545/600
4) After 3rd NZB, now 518/600
5) After 4th, now 486/600
etc
etc

Basically it got down to about 360/600 before I just re-started it to get it back to 600/600.

BTW, when I state process and download, I mean I do it manually, so I know for sure nothing else is going on in Newsbin between each load and download.

So just a question, is that correct?

Thanks.

They get flushed out automatically. If you want to flush them, you can do "help/about" and it'll flush them out of memory.

And it's correct that when doing the Help->About or in fact just closing down the program, that these are being flushed as chunks? Even though all files have d/l'ed 100% successfully (from main server no less).

Sorry for being a pain, just want to know if it's correct or not, as these are the chunks (at least for me), that are not cleaned up on a regular basis.

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean about correct. If the files aren't downloading completely then it's not correct. If they are and there are some straggler chunks then it's probably not much of an issue. The chunks eventually get purged.

I've noticed some stragglers when I download a bunch of pictures.
