is this file created by NBP? It seems to be added to every download...

Windows generates that file.

that is strange first time seeing it, going to try downloading the same file with another reader, have downloaded thousands of files, first time seeing it, unless something new in an upgrade in windows 8.1...

A simple google search will tell you what that file is. Windows uses it to cache thumbnails. You might have downloaded it. I see people posting files with the thumbs.db in them but, unless you turn it off, windows generates this file when you use the thumbnail view in explorer. Maybe windows hides it from you. My explorer is set to show all files.

I'm going to guess that you simply downloaded this file.

I never seen it before, I think a windows upgrade turn it on...I turned it off, very rarely I use windows explorer..Thanks for the help...

I am guessing that the only new site I went to is Google Images, and use the images from there, so windows created the thumbs.db Thanks for all the info...

Yeah, I'm not talking "Internet Explorer (IE)" I'm talking about windows explorer. You know, the thing you use to browse files on your hard disk? When you said you don't use explorer, I immediately assumed you were talking about IE and not windows explorer.

I don't use IE but, I use Windows explorer 100 times a day. It's windows that generates these thumbnail files, not your browser
