Watch Topics -- how to use properly
Posted: Mon Nov 11, 2013 12:51 pm
I have been using Newsbin for a long time. It's certainly the best newsreader out there!
I'm running 6.5 RC2 (RC3 caused some crashes, so I downgraded and it's stable now).
I want to learn more about the new watch topic feature, but had some questions about it and haven't been able to find the info I need by searching.
Can anyone help with these questions?
How do you use a filter profile with a watch topic?
The "filter profile" option is disabled on the watch topic window, so I can't choose which filter to use on the watch topic.
A suggestion on auto download:
Would it be possible to have Newsbin throw items to download in the wish list instead of download them? While I'm tuning my filter profiles, I sometimes get an unwanted item slip by the filter and then it just downloads. If it would drop into the wish list I could just delete it.
If I could get watch topics working the way I want them, I could just use them with global search and cut down on header downloads.
Thanks for taking the time to read. If I missed an obvious page somewhere in the forum, I would appreciate a link to it.
Thanks!
