Lost my groups...

I updated to the latest beta. Ran the program for a while. Closed it. Now that I reopen it, all my groups are gone. I try to run the Newsbin.ini, which shows all my groups, but I show 0 groups when the program fires up. Any clues?
Looks like my server data disappeared too.
Thanks, Mesa.

Not sure what could have caused your problem.
There is an option on the Options menu to restart Newsbin using a backup configuration. If you do this and select one with a date from when things were OK that should get back your settings.

Thanks. I tried that, and all the backup files gave me the same result. I'm having to just re-create my groups. And also now I can't get my window sections to stick. I have no clue how I had it set up the way it was, layout-wise, as it's been in one configuration for so long.
Oh well, at least the program is working,I'm just having to struggle with it a bit.

Did anything change with your system since this started happening? Kindof sounds like Newsbin can't write to the data folder if you are having configuration problems and you can't get GUI changes to stay in place. I'd go under Options/Setup and click the "Open Data Folder" button and make sure it is a folder you expect to be using and that your user account has full read/write access to it. If it doesn't, you can follow
this procedure to move the data folder location.

If this happens again, you need to immediately recover the configuration. It only stores 10 of them and if you restart Newsbin 10 times with the bad config, you'll wipe all the backups out. That's what I suspect happened here.

Thanks for the help, Quade.
I believe what happened originally was that I installed an earlier version (older installer) when I thought I was installing 6.50. When I ran Newsbin, it started off looking like a new installation. I messed with it a few times, then realized that I had used an older installer that was lurking in my download folder. Once I installed 6.50, it was too late to recover the original setup as I had probably opened and closed Newsbin more than 10 times.
Next time, I'll pay a lot more attention.
Sorry for the confusion.
Best regards,
