I'm using vers. 6.42: 00 64 1E B3 76 24
I restarted the newsbin and found my download list isn't getting loaded. Is there away to find my download list on the hard drive and manually load it?

thanks

Did Newsbin shut down normally or did it get killed (or the computer got shutoff)? Newsbin should be saving the download list on exit. If it doesn't, then either it can't write to the Newsbin Data Folder or your database is corrupt. To find the data folder location, go under Options/Setup and click "Open Data Folder". The download list is saved in the downloads.db3 file. Might want to check and make sure it has a timestamp from today. If it is either missing or has an old timestamp, it could mean a permissions problem on the folder. In case of corruption, close Newsbin and delete this file, then Newsbin will create a new one the next time it is started.

I think something weird happened to newsbin. I keep it running for days normally but it was saying that it couldn't unrar to my unrar directory. I checked the drive and it wasn't full so I shut newsbin down normally. Right now newsbin is running but has no download list. I'm afraid to shut it down as it may overwrite an my old list with an empty download list once it's restarted. I found the downloads.db3 file and it's fairly large so I'm hoping to try to try restoring it because it would take hours to find everything again.

Is there a way to shut down newsbin without getting the file deleated or to manually try to load the file or to try to see if newsbin can use it when restarted?

You can try copying the DB3 out of the folder while Newsbin is running. I'm wondering if you have more than one downloads.db3 on your PC.

Thanks guys!
With the idea of copying the downloads file, I made a copy. I chose to cause the computer to have a hard crash. I did this because I figured that the download list may not be overwritten if I did that (I still had the copy just in case.) So windows was rebooted and I loaded newsbin - and everything is working perfectly!
