Internet Search server?

Postby Quasi » Sun Jul 14, 2013 11:29 pm

Is there an issue with the Newsbin Internet Search server? I just ran "download latest" on a.b.teevee and it shows no updates for the last 9 hours; that group is one of the larger, more active ones too. Just checking. Thanks!

"Download Latest" is for downloading headers from your News server. If this doesn't work, there's probably a problem talking to your news server. Meaning it's unrelated to our search server.

I just did a blank search and it shows content up to the past 10 minutes or so in that group so, our search is current.

FWIW - I encounter this problem, and one where it takes an inordinate, long amount of time to complete and display the results of a search. Nothing relevant is found posted in the logging tab. Both problems are almost always resolved for me by exiting/closing, and then restarting Newsbin.

Yeah...sorry about that post. It was evidently a long day that had little or no brain power involved...when I re-read what I wrote yesterday I find myself asking, "WTF were you thinking....??"

Thanks for being patient!
