Files in Download List not downloading

I'm a long-time user of Newsbin, and I've periodically noticed that files get stuck in the download list without any log message, status indication, or other way to tell why they are just sitting there and not being downloaded.

The ones I'm looking at right now are normal rar files, though they are near the retention limit for the server I'm fetching them from (around 1400 days old, with retention claimed at over 1700 on usenetserver.com).

I've tried restarting and 'resume download', but this does not have any effect.

Anyone have thoughts on why these won't download, and what to do? I suspect these may just be missing from the server, perhaps DMCA takedowns, more likely just lost/corrupted files on the server, but there is no log message about this.

Whatever the reason, it seems it would be helpful to have an indication of what is going on for files in the download list.

In the network options, check "Show Server Commands" then restart and see if you see any log messages.

Do you have a "typical retention" set in the server options? That'll stop download of old files.
