I'm coming from version 5 and can't seem to find it in version 6? Is it there? If so, where?

Click on "Change" in the options next to the download path then add $(GROUP) to the download path. It'll substitute the real group for this variable when you download.

I've been using newsbin forever, but couldn't get the downloads to save in folders named for the groups in version 6 until last night.
Adding the $(GROUP) to the main download path may work in NEW installations, it didn't work after UPGRADING my installed version.
FINALLY, after reading posts (Thanks Quade!), I finally got it to work!!!
I hi-lighted ALL my groups, right-clicked and selected properties, and added the $(GROUP) to the D/L path.
It changed them all and BINGO!!!
Hope this helps someone else; I was about to uninstall and install an older version or do a fresh install.

There is a place to set the path globally, under Options/Setup. What you have done is set it for each group individually under group properties, which will override the global setting.

You have a good point that if you have a per-group download path set from V5 and upgrade, then change the global path using the new pathing scheme, it probably won't work unless you clear out the old per/group settings or change the per/group settings to reflect the new scheme.

The new pathing variables are documented here: http://help.newsbin.com/index.php/V640_Pathing
