Windows 7 64bit
Newsbin 6.50B11
After I installed latest beta my chunk folder started to build up. Its now over 60gig. The files that I am trying to DL is 138 gig complete.
I guess that some articles have expired/not found = newsbin fill up the chunk folder.
Is there anyway to move the chunk folder?
Like many I use a SSD as Root and write newsbin data to a ordinary hard drive. Before 6.5B my newsbin DL folder had .nbi files. If I understand correctly
they are now gone and its "chunks folder" that get those files.

Correct(well they were rv4 files, but I know what you meant), and they get cleaned out after a time (a week-ish?) if the post never completes. Sounds like you're trying to download something on the outside of the bell curve, though, that's double the size of the vast majority of largest things that gets posted. Combined with the SSD, that makes a headache, yeah. AFAIK, the chunks folder lives wherever the data folder lives. You can relocate that - which is a little non-obvious since it's discouraged on a casual basis. Quit Newsbin, copy the main .nbi config file, edit it and look under the Settings area. You can edit the Datapath entry there, save, move all your data folder contents there and restart Newsbin.

B13 (maybe B12 I don't remember) cleans out the chunk folder every so often. I'm still jerking with the chunk purging though too.

Instead of a timed clean, or in addition to it, if the download list is empty can the chunks folder be purged? Is there a valid scenario where there would be chunks but nothing is in the process of downloading?

Chunks get cleaned out for every file that complete's downloading so it's not like it's keeping them around when they're no longer needed. My chunks folder stays pretty empty even without the purge. I added the timed purge for the people, for whatever off reasons, don't get the same purging I do.
I can consider the "chunk purge when download list empties" just seems odd to me you'd need it.
What version are you currently using?
