expressions not treated the same: search vs. filter

Postby cgardude » Tue Jun 25, 2013 3:14 pm

I thought filters on a single group used to be treated the same as internet search, but it looks like that is no longer (ever?) true.

if I enter 'name.720p' or 'name 720p' for an internet search I get the same results. If I enter these same searches as a filter for a single group, only 'name 720p' returns a result. I could swear these all used to work the same.

What version are you using?

Internet Search and Local Search/Find in the post list have never been the same.

Local search uses regular expressions and you can use RE's after you do a search to filter out the results. Internet search though uses boolean.

Local search is closer to I search these days though. Using words separated by spaces is effectively and "and" "this that" = "this and that" in any order.
