Hi,

I would like to make a list of all files that were downloaded since Newsbin installation.

The reason is that I lost some 30% of them and would very much retrieve them.

With a list of the filename and group it was in, I'm quite certain I would eventually be able to get them all back manually.

I Newsbin can do it by itself, so much the better !

Can you help ?

Thanks !

No, sorry, newsbin doesn't keep a meaningful log of files you have downloaded, partly due to performance issues but also because a lot of users don't like silent logging.

Hi,

I'm reading that the signature.db3 contains such a list for filtering purposes to show that we already downloaded such a file... Can a simple list be extracted from this file ?

Thanks !

No, unfortunately it's not a proper list of files as we might interpret it - it's a hash of the contents of the beginning of the file - essentially just enough information to give Newsbin a semi-unique stamp it can recognize and nothing more - so it's fast and contains nothing like a filename or group origin.

Hi,

Well, I know most of what I download but it's a lot and with luck, in a couple of days spare time, it'll be done !

Thanks !
