Help! Settings gone.

I'm not sure what happened, but when I just started Newsbin, all my settings were gone--servers, files list, wish list...everything. All my groups are gone, too. If I go to the data folder, it looks like everything is still there, but the program is not accessing them. I thought there was a command to load configuration, but I'm not seeing it. Is there a way to get everything back to the way it was?

What version are you using? Newer versions have an option to "Load Backup config on restart". It's in the options menu.

Yes!! Thank you, my friend! Everything looks back to normal. I have absolutely no idea what happened. I had loaded the new beta a couple of days ago, but had used it fine since then. Then, this morning--poof!

I have to say, you guys are great with the support. I don't know how you do it all, but I'm glad you do! :)

One last question: I use a self-created data folder for Newsbin. Now that I've restored the backup config file, can I delete the "\appdata\local\newsbin" folder, or are there things in there I need to keep?

Guiitems.db3 is where the backup configurations are stored.

Okay, I see that one. I also have a few (really) old backup config files. But other than that, I can delete the files? Just trying to keep the drive somewhat organized.

Personally, I'd leave the folder alone. It's small and won't get any bigger. It's your PC though so, you should do whatever makes you happy.

What the hell? It did it to me again. Loaded up and everything was reset. I was able to load one of the backups again, but I thought I maybe should say something, just in case it's happening to anyone else. I saved an alternate copy of the config file, too, just to be safe.

p.s. I didn't end up deleting those files, either.
