Slow header download

Just lately, (past 4 months or so), my 'Headers' download has become annoyingly slow. Now I can only download the headers at a maximum rate of 280.3 kps. I'm on a 24mps line and regularly get download speeds of 30mps. Once the headers have finished downloading, any files download at a 'normal' rate.
Is my problem with Newsbin or with my internet supplier?

What news server are you using? That speed qualifies as "barely working".

I'm using Newsrazor with maximum options. In the past, with the same internet supplier and the same news server, I have had phenomenal download speeds with the headers. I'm wondering if I am being restricted deliberately for some reason.

Just for shits and grins, I'd sign up with Astraweb for a month and see what speed you get. I was getting > 100 Mbps per connection to them the other day for header downloads. These days AW is more reliable than Giganews even.
This would help determine if it's the server or ISP.
What version of Newsbin are you using?

Thanks Quade, that sounds fantastic. I'm using Newsbin Pro 6.5B8 Build 2721.

Just a quick thank you to Quade. I have, today, signed up to Astraweb and am now getting a header download speed of up to 161 Mbps. Which, for me, is astounding. Anyone else having header download speed issues, take note of what that man tells you. Thanks again.

I have the exact same problem (about 4 months of slow headers with Newsrazor). Looks like it's them.

Well, "newtpatrol", as explained, Quade was spot on. Ditch NewsRazor and go for Astraweb. I haven't looked back. I'm still getting header downloads in excess of 150 Mbps and file downloads of around 27 Mbps. Good luck.
