Duplicate detection seems to to not be working...

I start a download.. let it run for a while.. close Newsbin..
re open & it seems to start from beginning.. I deleted application data so it would rebuild them in case they got corrupted


Under Options --> File Name options Auto rename is unchecked
and Copy Style rename is unchecked

Any ideas?

What version are you using? This doesn't seem to have anything to do with duplicate detection. Seems like you're saying it shouldn't be starting over?

Shouldn't it be throwing out the rars it already downloaded as duplicates instead of downloading the entire set again Unless I hit bypass filters which I'm not doing

When downloading a set of files, it doesn't add to the signature cache till the entire set finishes. So, no it's not supposed to be failing them UNLESS you actually finished the entire download. It's not clear if this download ever finished.

No the download never finished i stopped it in the middle.. I didn't know the download had to finish before counting as a duplicate

Well, you don't really want it failing downloads just because you restarted it do you?

No I don't want a failing download just cause I restarted .. But I would think it would resume from where it left off.. it does not it starts over from beginning

It depends on a couple factors in 6.42.

1 - Do you have PAR files.

2 - Did Newsbin have to rename the files?

6.50 is more aggressive about resuming. It doesn't need PAR files any more.
