Newbin 6.5 Beta 2 BUG

Postby Plankton » Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:06 pm

Don't know if anybody else has already said this but retries seems a bit flakey

It doesn't matter if it is set to 0,2 or 200000 some file keep ending up in the failed list as "retry failure:ran out of retries:" yet when you re-add them to the download list they work as normal and go on to complete and unpack.

I assume it's files with no pars? Do you have a crappy server that fails most download in your server mix? I don't have this issue but, my servers are about equal. I wonder if it's happening to some people with bad servers?

The intent is that it won't assemble incomplete files that don't have pars. It tosses them into the failed list and waits for you to do something with them. It might need some tweeking.

Files with pars and the status log only shows a few fails with Astraweb and not a flood of fails that you would expect and it has only started happening with 6.5 Beta 2.

Seems very intermittent and inconsistent , Maybe it's just a temp glitch with me if nobody else has reported it.

It's new behavior that might need tweeking. I need to look at how the retries apply. For example "Aggressive Mode" might trigger this early.
