Re-downloading previously downloaded files

Postby radiomike » Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:28 am

My last two large file downloads have been acting strangely. If I close down Newsbin part way through a download, when I restart again, Newsbin isn't remembering the files it has already downloaded and starts to download all the individual files again. This has happened twice now and is really baffling me. Under the Advanced settings I've checked that the 'Saved Files list on Exit' is selected and, that aside, my settings and the configuration of Newsbin is 'as is'; I haven't (knowingly) altered any settings or changed any options but the last two large downloads have both acted the same (i.e. on restart not recognised/found the previously downloaded files). I've been using Newsbin for years so I'm really puzzled why it's suddenly behaving this way!

Do they have PAR files? The lack of PAR files can confuse 6.42.

I've re-worked that code in 6.50 to work whether there are par files or not (not that that help you now). 6.50 restarts downloads faster and does a better job of checking files already on disk.

Hi Quade, yes they have par files. All very odd, I guess for the time being I'll just try to download in one session lol.
