Avoid re-downloading all headers

Avoid re-downloading all headers

Postby WsB » Sat Feb 16, 2013 2:10 pm

I have all the newsgroups downloaded in the SPOOL_V6 folders, but I deleted the various db3 files in the the base folder.

When opening newsbin, I restore the groups I require and when I click on download latest it starts downloading from scratch; any way to tell it that the headers are already downloaded?

Also, anyone know a program that can read the db3 files? Binged, but not found anything yet.

Cheers.

1 - DB3 files are Sqlite files so, the Sqlite commandline or any of the many sqlite explorer programs can read them.

2 -
- Set to "Download Age" to however many days you want to download.
- Right click the group "Post Storage/Use Download Age"
- Right click "Download Latest".

That will make it download "Download Age" days worth of headers.

I have about 1600 days of headers and don't want it to take the hours and days to re-download em.

I'm unclear about what you're responding too. I gave you a method to try. Did you try it?
