Par issues

Postby gquiring » Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:19 am

I have noticed that NB often says there are not enough pars to repair a rar set and it's wrong. In this latest example it says Needed:2704 Found 2973. When I ran Smartpar it repaired the rar set.

I am running 6.42 build 2146 on Win7 x64.

What does quickpar say? Same thing? Did you restart in the middle of the download? I'm not seeing this in my downloads that's why I'm trying to figure out what could trigger it.

Quickpar is what I meant. It repairs the files.

Ok that's good, quickpar is my reference. Not sure at this point then. Somehow there's a disconnection between what Newsbin thinks and what quickpar thinks. How often is it happening?

I would estimate I download 1-3 rar sets per day that range somewhere from 4-12gig in size. On average at least once a week where NB fails and Quickpar can repair it.

I may have a clue. The last one that failed to par correctly were two NZB downloads for one set. The first NZB was the content with a single par file and the 2nd NZB were the par files. It did create all the related files into one common directory.
