problem downloading par files

Postby duckegg » Thu Jan 17, 2013 5:58 am

Hi, here the problem. Visited a nzb site and got nzb file for BigFile.

On the screen this file are viewed as one .rar and .par file set.

Newsbin reads the file successfully, however the BigFile.nzb is split into two downloaded files sets, one being a pure rar download and the other set a pure par set.

The rar are corrupt, but no matter what I do I can't seem to get hold of the par files. Tried the aptly named Bypass Filter option, but these were not bypassed:) .

In newsbin under AutoPar Options I have unticked everything except Automatically Unrar Complete Files. Now on the Failed Files tab I get [Par Process] Single File Download Failure BigFile.

thanks

This sounds like a download issue having nothing to do with autopar.

You add the pars to the download list and what happens at that point? You might click the + icon and looks at how the files download. If they're paused, I'd try unpausing them.

After installing on a new system, I am having this identical problem. [par process] single file download failed. No matter what I click on, it starts to download, clicking on the + sign doesn't tell me anything, it just shows downloading, the bar is red and then it fails.

There have been so many issues just trying to get this program to actually work, or stay working, over the years that I'm about ready to just give up on it, it's very frustrating. A shame because I really like the program.

You need to look at the logging tab to get an idea of WHY a downloaded fails.

The commonest reason is that the files in question have been removed as the result of a DCMA takedown request. This is particularly likely to be the case if all parts of a recent posting fails. On older posts you just might be over the servers retention period.

I can pretty much eliminate both of those reasons with 100% certainty. I'm not talking a couple of downloads, but dozens of them. Files that were accessible the day prior. There is just no way that many files got taken off of usenet by DCMA in 24 hours. It's literally an entire group.

As for retention, I'm WAY within my servers retention time.

I'll look at logging later after I've had some sleep.

You're not giving enough information to be able to help. If it doesn't download, there's only a couple reasons and typically it's listed in the logging tab.

430 errors on newish files are almost 100% DMCA.
