In version 6.40 I noticed that my fill server was always downloading. If I disabled it then the main server was able to download all of the parts. I checked in the server tab and it shows my fill server as a fill and slave. I tried 6.41RC1 and still have the same issue. I've tried restarting newsbin with both enabled and it produces the same result. Both are configured to use SSL if that makes a difference.

I see no errors in the logging tab. Is there anything to try?

Yeah, odd. If you disable it being a slave, does it work correctly?

How can you tell it's being used? Do you see the color come up on the download list?

I just took one of my regular servers, clicked it into fill mode and it's not being used right now.

If the log messages shows the server name, like in the commands to the server, that doesn't necessarily mean the server is being used.

For example, even though AW is listed in the log, it's not the server the chunk is coming from.

I have exactly the same problem
I can see the server colour downloading in the download list

Maybe not so helpful reply from me but i don't have problems with main server vs fillserver at all
and never had. (have used all 6.40 beta's, RC's, final release and 6.41 beta's and RC)

I'm wondering if there's some unreported error that Newsbin knows about but, is visible in the log. Any 430 errors will kick the fill server into gear.

Sorry for the late reply, bad weather has kept me off the computer. I see the color show up as being downloaded and I can watch the download counter increment.

I tried setting the fill server to master and still have the same result. Viewing the connections tab also shows all connections to both fill and normal server working.

Are there any other logs to look at?
