OK finally getting around to searching my downloaded headers.

Click on Search tab
Type a word to search in the search field and press Enter

The Blue thingy goes across the screen several times.

No results..... REALLY ?

I've tried searching for words that I have found in headers by looking at all posts in a group.

What am I missing ?

Global filter always applies. Maybe you're filtering them out.

I checked my global filter and the following is what I have for both Subject and Filename Reject

.*[s|S][a|A][m|M][p|P][l|L][e|E].*
sample

Those are not the words I've searched for.

ah i found that I had a Subject Accept entry.

Removed that and searching works much better :)

Knowing that the Global filter applies helped, Thanks

*[s|S][a|A][m|M][p|P][l|L][e|E].*

Is the same as just entering

"sample". The RE's in Newsbin are case independent so, you don't have to worry about upper/lower

You don't need a leading or trailing ".*". That's mainly used between words.
