6.40 : Filters not working

I just updated to 6.40 and the filters are not working.

It looks like the filters are not applying themselves to the current group headers. The first filter I use looks like it is working (maybe), but the second (and more) don't work, either showing a few headers or none.

Finally, selecting the 'none' filter displays about 2 pages of headers, a vast minority of the headers shown when the filter off button is pressed.

The global filter always applies. I might examine and clean out the global filter.

Yes, it was the global filter. As I don't use that filter, I was using it for temporary storage of a regular expression.

Of course, why the Global filter always applies is another question, since it shows up in the filter use list.

And, one would expect 'None' to mean no filter.

I don't disagree. Always thought 'none' and 'global' should be combined into a single entry. The switch to completely disable filters is over on the left. As memory serves, this was a legacy leftover from before the days of a global filter.

The point of the global filter is to have some place to put the filters you always want to apply. "german" for instance or "exe" or some other values you never want to see when downloading. It saves you from having to add these values to every single filter you create.
