download folder small problem

Postby rangersmith » Mon Nov 19, 2012 8:41 pm

Hi there, before upgrading all of my downloads would go to my main download folder and then into individual folders, but now all files just go into the main folder, all mixed up. Am I missing a setting to make all new downloads create their own folder within the main folder.

Regards

I've got this exact same issue as well and it's annoying.

I had to reformat last night and I was using the same version before the format as after (6.40). For some reason my downloads are placed into the correct hdd/folder but no longer create a folder for that download. I've searched high and low for the option but I'm yet to find it.

Can someone point me in the right direction please !

TIA

Select the browse button in options for the download path, that defines your primary download location, then click on edit when that is closed, you can add variables to define further subfolders. In theory, when you upgraded, whatever you were using(like group or nzb filename) should have been converted over. Previously there were a handful of auto-created subfolder options that were scattered all over the options, this gives you one location to customize however you wish.

Hi.

Ok to cut a long story short I've bought myself a new cpu, motherboard and graphics card so this weekend I did a format.

Now I've come to set Newsbin Pro up again and I'll be damned if I can get it to download an nzb and create a directory with that nzb name within my downloads folder. I have tried every single option from ($DATE) to $(YEAR) and non of them seem to do a damn thing.

I'm on the latest version of Newsbin Pro, 6.41b4 2120 and this one has be stumped as I did it before.

Can someone please tell me exactly which on the options I require. All I want it it to download to a folder name that the nzb is called. Example: K:\Downloads\$(GOG)$(LONGGROUP)\ K:Downloads\isofilename\rar's in here :)

Many thanks in advance... :)

Keep in mind that changes to the download path only apply to new items added for download. It does not affect items already queued for download in the download list.

To download NZB files into a folder named after the file, just append the $(NZBFILE) variable to the path.

There is a help page on setting up paths in the Newsbin Help Wiki

Yep I've done that and it worked for a few days but now it's back to not putting the files into the nzb directory.

Here is a screen shot of my Newsbin Pro program. Can anyone see anything wrong with this or is this a bug ?

You're using B2. The current version is RC1. Not sure that matters but, it would be a good idea to get on the same page.

How are you feeding the NZB's in? Autoload for example has it's own optional download settngs.

Dex pointed out that your paths are missing trailing "\". You might want to add that.

HAHAHA your right the \ was missing. I'm so dumb ! I was on the latest version but I dropped back to one that I knew was working.

I'm blaming the drugs the hospital has given me ! My mind is somewhere else.

Thank you guys !

It really was a bug though, Newsbin shouldn't have let a path get in there without the trailing slash. That's the fix that is in the latest version but you probably set that path with the version that had the bug.

Glad it's straightened out now.
