SSL error

I'm using the 6.41B2 Build: 2102 and getting a:

[01:45:14] ERROR InterSocket - Error: SSL Negotiation Failed, Host: http://www.newsbin.com Error: SSL Connection Failed: 6 Error 0 The operation completed successfully.

I've never run in to this error before. Is it possible there is something up with the beta? I don't have any anti-virus installed and my SSL is 443.

There's been a few reports of this in the beta thread. I don't see it myself, but I don't think you're alone. Wonder if it's ISP related?

I'll switch back to the other version to see if it makes a difference. It was working in that version.

Switched back to 6.40 Build 2057 and have no SSL error. Would that mean there is an issue within the beta?

Newsbin is checking the timestamp of the MOTD and determining whether to show the MOTD or not. People wanted the MOTD to only popped up when it was new.

The only thing that's new is that it's reporting the error. I imagine the same failure is happening in 6.40 but, it's simply not reporting it. You probably have Newsbin locked down so, it can't talk to our website. That's fine but, it means it can't check the MOTD timestamp. I consider this to be a non-issue.

Well, I've removed the message for the next beta (might be in Beta 3) so, you won't see it any more. I could try extending the timeout a little. Newsbin doesn't wait for it because it's a pretty minor issue. It either gets the timestamp or doesn't. It has no impact on the rest of Newsbin.
