v. 6.40: filter drop-down menus don't appear

Hi,
most of the time, the "filter profile"/ "age"/ "min Size" / max size" menus don't appear for any group.
In rare cases they seemingly randomly do. What could be the reason?

Far left button on the tool bar turns them on or off.
