Download Folders Changed in 6.40

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, I did a quick scan of topics and didn't see it.

I've modified the download directory many versions ago to E:\Downloads\$(GROUP)\. The sub-directories here have always had the full name of the group, e.g. alt.binaries.teevee. After upgrading to 6.40 build 2059 last night, and doing some downloads, the resulting downloads ended up in a directory called a.b.teevee. Took me a few seconds to work this out.

Not a bug, just a bit unexpected.

I wasn't expecting it to be an issue but, it turns out it is one. I shortened the path to reduce the incidence off "path too long" issues. How much of a problem is it? Could you just move all the files from alt.binaries to a.b?

For me it's not an issue once I figured it out, and yes, easy enough for me to move the files. The old way wasn't a problem for me either but I suppose most of the groups I'm following have relatively short names; can certainly understand if it's an issue for others.

The groups just add to it. RARS can contain paths and when people use subjects or other suffixes the path can get too long.

..Or just change the properties of the group to fit old folder name.
