creating a large wishlist

Postby beany » Tue Sep 11, 2012 4:30 pm

HI, I'm adding a large search to a wishlist and it is taking a very long time. currently 3600 out of 26000 and has been running for 3/4hr or so.
Can I use the search tab for other stuff in the mean-time or do I need to let it alone until the wishlist is populated?

on a related note can I have multiple wishlists or just the one?

Thanks

Wish list isn't really a good place for all this data. When you restart Newsbin all of it is loaded back into memory. A "Custom List" is better because it's like a group, you can unload, load, delete and add to the custom list at will. You can send data there from the right click menu then load it like a normal groups.

As for the search question, the answer is I don't know. I've never tried it.

Edit: If you exit while this is going on, you'll lose some of these files. Right now they're all queued up on memory and hitting the server looking for the download data. Just a heads up.

thanks Quade! I did exit and delete the wishlist so I ran the searches again and saved to a custom list as you suggested. Much better!

It has taken a while to get into NB as an application but now I understand a little more of the basics I'm really liking it. Thanks!
