Newsbin searcch shows limited result set?

Hi,
I am looking for songs from <stuff>. When I search on stuff and sort on the file size I see a few >GB sets, not belonging to <stuff>.
When I search for stuff.disco I do get a discography line of about 3GB. Why did that not show up with the previous search?

When I typed in the word you mentioned, with Search set to "Internet" I got 2000 hits. When I hit the "More" button, I got 2000 more. All told I got 9100 hits for the word by itself.
1 - Is your search set to internet?
2 - Do have any size or date filters set?
3 - Are you trying to search only in specific groups?
Don't tell the world what you're searching for. It's against forum policy.

Hmm, no settings used, Internet, no filters, no group filter.
I am sorting on size, this is the first time ever I see that there is a number on the tab stating 2000. Image link not allowed for unregistered users
I don't see a More button.
Sorry to show the search term.
I think I understand what happens. I search for a term, get more then 2000 results, only "first" 2000 are shown (sorted!), then I have to hit the More button (can't find it) until the whole set is shown.
Shouldn't the whole set be sorted and the first 2000 shown according to the Sort criteria? That is what I would expect without rtfm Image link not allowed for unregistered users
I looked through the options, 2000 is hard coded?

It's hard coded in our server. The "more" button is the only one with an arrow.

Sorry to be a 6 year old noob, but... (Ooops, 9 year old, I started using in 2003)
- I have reset the interface
- I looked and looked
- Read the docs (which show 2720 results in the search screen print from 5.5)
and still can't find the bloody More.........

Can you point it out? I think it is a feature I should have already used since I never noticed the limit 2000.

Which exact release are you running? Changes are fast and furious with this product. I believe at one point it was a plus sign. It's very near the search term area no matter what. It's not the 'nuke' symbol, but other than that it should be easy to find.

Sorry..'No more' means? You figured it out?
Just so you know, you can't post links here if you're unregistered, it just doesn't show up our end.

In the current beta, it's the 4th button from the left.
You might want to upgrade. Typically it's right next to the magnifying glass.

I think I am registered now (added my nb key). I still don't see any button to go to the next screen of 2000 search results.........

In the main button bar the fourth is the pause download.
Inside the search window the first is Stop Search, second is Clear, then search box, then Search button, then Filter button. No More.
Done install, checked the reset interface, so what other options are there now?
I do not get why the board still thinks I am not registered....... Maybe logoff/logon?

Got it.
Look at the second row of controls in the search tab. You see the arrow about midway across the screen? I've moved it next to the magnifying glass in 6.40.

Yikes Image link not allowed for unregistered users.
The popup text says "Load Older Files into the list". Never thought that would mean "add the next 2000 to the list". A better place would be next to the Search button itself?
You of course know that the search implementation takes the "latest" 2000 first (this is what I deduced now). The Button then gets the next "latest" 2000 each time.
Although I could only get that to work once up until 8000, then it stopped adding entries.
After that I re-did the search, then it never worked anymore, it stayed at 2000. There is no visible feedback when I click it, nothing seems to happen.
After a clean start I did get it to work, although it goes from 2000 to 0, then to 4000, then to 6000, then to 0, then to 8000 and 9103. After that it says no more results.
Thanks for helping me with this, I am sure I missed out on a few results with previous searches.
I understand the need for the way it works, but when always sorting on size like I do it seems silly to get the "latest" 2000 first, and not the biggest 2000 first.
But I'll get used to that..................
Any chance you can set the speed delimiter up to 120Mbit? I sometimes would like to use it to cap downloading at 100Mbit.

To quote myself:
I've moved it next to the magnifying glass in 6.40.
Set a size filter and you can get the latest 2000 that are larger than your min size threshold.
I think the take-away here is
"if in doubt, click the button and see what happens".

Ah, I read that but did not get the meaning.... but in my subconscious it probably landed

That is a good motto for a piece of software at home (almost all)!
Thx again.
