Post doesn't seem to be the post requested

I frequently get this error message. I've googled this msg and found no results regarding Newsbin, same for this board. Can someone explain why it happens and is it a server issue or a program issue?.

What version are you using? Should be 6.31 or 6.32.

What server are you using?

Newsbin sends requests to the server:

ARTICLE <this is a message-id>

Then the server sends the article to Newsbin. Newsbin then checks the results to see if the article it's requesting is the same as the article it got. It checks the subject and the message-id. If the article returned doesn't seem to be the article requested. Newsbin will display this message. By failing this, if you have more than one server maybe one of your other servers can return the correct record. If you only have one server then the hope is you can fix it with par files.

There was a bug fix for this code somewhere back in 6. That's why if you're running 6, you ought to be running the latest 6.

I'm using 6.32 Build 1879.
I have several servers - main one is Astraweb, and several others are Blocknews, Newsgroupdirect, and XSUsenet - I temporarily disabled Astraweb and told newsbin to try and download a failed rar part from the others, but those too ended up with the same random file.

When this happens again, i'll PM the details.

Sometimes there's a message-id collision too meaning there are two posts with the same message-id. It's rare but, I've seen it a couple times with astraweb.

How are you downloading? Headers, Search or NZB's? If the message-id is incorrect in the NZB, you might see this too.

I download the headers usually. Sometimes afterwards I'll try searching for the file on binsearch or nzbindex if it's a couple of blocks short. I find headers via Astraweb can be incomplete even though the file is entirely complete.
