It might be worth checking the permissions on the SPOOL_V6 folder (and its contents) are set to allow your current user to have full access. One way to check if this might be the problem is to use the option to run Newsbin as Administrator. If that works then it is almost certainly a permissions problem.

Note the the DB files will not necessarily change in size. However the date for the last update should change.

Another thing to check is that you do not have the Storage Age value set to something like your 27 days under the Newsbin Options. Any headers older than the storage age value are discarded.

Permissions seem fine and the header load works ok with another very large group.
Storage Age is set high (200) which should see many many more headers than are visible.
regards.

There's only so many things that can go wrong. If you are 100% certain that you monitor datestamps on the group in question, you update headers, there is no touching of the files whatsoever, then something is interfering with newsbin saving the data. Nothing whatsoever in the logging tab when this happens? Should be a message. The fact that other groups are updating fine means all is well with general operation, it's just this group. Are you using the latest release? There was a problem with boneless a while back crossing some massive count boundary, but it's been fixed. Other than that, all I can think of is permissions in that folder or a pooched spool which redownloading would fix.

- Set the Storage Age to 1500
- Pick one group, right click and "Download all headers".
- Watch the header download.
- Right click "Show all Posts".

Then report what happened. If that works, you can trim the storage age back down to whatever you want.

- When you download the first time from a group it used "Download Age".
- Subsequent header downloads download new since last time it downloaded headers.
- "Download All" or "Use Download Age" (group list right click/post storage) resets this.
